Vietnam has strived to transform into a knowledge-based economy, and to achieve this goal, attracting and nurturing talent, especially young scientists and engineers, has become a key government strategy. A series of incentive policies has been introduced to create the most favorable conditions for young talent to contribute and thrive.

Alongside the mechanisms and regulations under the Law on Science, Technology and Innovation, which will take effect on October 1, 2025, the Ministry of Science and Technology is continuing to propose new measures to support young researchers and engineers. Among the highlights are financial incentives and improved working conditions. Young professionals recruited into public service positions will receive attraction allowances and additional benefits to ensure stable incomes. At the same time, modern laboratories and state-of-the-art equipment are being invested in, providing an ideal environment for research and innovation.

The policies also emphasize professional development, enabling young talents to participate in internships and training abroad. This not only gives them access to the world’s most advanced knowledge and technologies but also helps expand their international collaboration networks. They are encouraged to lead scientific projects, receive funding to publish in prestigious journals, attend international conferences, and register intellectual property rights. These mechanisms are essential for enhancing expertise, affirming capabilities, and directly contributing to the growth of Vietnam’s science and technology sector.

Attracting and nurturing young talent is not simply about addressing workforce shortages but is a long-term strategy to build a strong scientific and technological ecosystem. By creating an environment where talent is recognized and nurtured, Vietnam is drawing in its brightest minds, driving innovation, producing “Make in Vietnam” technologies, and strengthening the nation’s competitiveness on the global stage.
