Floods causedamage of more than 93.3 billion VND
BHG - Recent heavy rains and flooding in Ha Giang Province over the past four days have caused significant damage, totaling more than 93.3 billion VNDAs of 4 pm on October 2,according to a quick report from theStanding Office under the Provincial Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue.

Six people have died due to flooding and nine have been injured due tolandslides in Bac Quang District. Across the province, 406 homes have been damaged, and 300 homes have been located in 41 locations identified as being at high risk of landslides.Emergency evacuation efforts have been successful for 248 households. On the section of National Highway 2 through Viet Vinh Commune (Bac Quang District), over 20,000 cubic metres of soil and rocks from landslides have been cleared. The National Highway 2 reopen by 1pm on October 2.
The Provincial Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescuehas been actively overseeing recovery efforts, particularly focusing on landslide-prone areas.Immediate support includes 25 million VND for each family that lost a member, 5 million VND for severely injured individuals, and 40 million VND for families whose homes were completely destroyed.
The authorities have been instructed to assess landslide areas in detail and develop plans for relocating displaced households to ensure safety and practicality. Additionally, the cooperation with the Ministry of Defencehas been being underway, utilisingflycams to scan vulnerable areas and provide timely warnings to localities to implement necessary preventive measures for landslides, flash floods, and other hazards.
